Anyone interested in helping to grow a grassroots network of democrats in Gratiot County can join our mailing list, but if you would like to go a step further, then consider joining the party. As a local affiliate of the state party, all members of GCDP must first join the state party, then join GCDP.
STEP ONE: Join our mailing list
Joining is simple. Just follow this link to sign up. This will open new window to a secure site where you can enter your contact information. You can even tell us what sort of information you want us to share with you. If you want to be informed about monthly meetings and other issues relating to party organization, you can check the "Meetings" box. If you want to know about local special events, like fundraisers or candidate meet-and-greets, check "Special Events and Announcements." If you are interested in grassroots activism and local, state, and national issues GCDP is involved with, check the "Activism and News" option. If you want to help out with election year campaigns, check "Elections." You can check any and all that interest you, and you can change these settings at any time.
STEP TWO: Join the state party
Members of GCDP need to first join the Michigan Democratic Party and pay the membership dues to the state. Fortunately, that is easy to do on the Michigan Democratic Party site, hosted by ActBlue, the National Democratic Party's fundraising platform. You can choose from several different levels of membership. Your dues help support the state wide resources we use.
STEP THREE: Join GCDP
Local membership is $10, and you can pay that here. Every dollar you donate goes directly to our efforts to build and maintain a local Democratic presence. Donating is easy, too, thanks to ActBlue. Every dollar you give goes directly to our local chapter. Your donation helps us:
- Provide campaign support for local candidates
- Rent a campaign office during national election seasons
- Participate in events like the Highland Festival Parade
