GCDP is committed to helping all citizens of our county register to vote.  Registering is easy, too.  Just download this registration form, complete it, and bring it to the Gratiot County clerk's office, located in the County Courthouse (214 E Center, Ste 16, Ithaca 48847).  You can also submit the form by mail.  Remember, though, that either way, you will need to provide the required proof of identity and residency.

JOIN OR VOLUNTEER WITH GCDP
Joining GCDP means that you have a voice in shaping the sort of grassroots activism and candidate recruitment that happens in your county.  All members of GCDP must also be members of the Michigan Democratic Party.  View info on becoming a member here.

Non-members can still volunteer to help with GCDP activities, especially with those relating to the campaigns of candidates.  The best way to get connected is to sign up for our mailing list and let us know you want to volunteer to help with elections and campaigns.
RUn FOR OFFICE
We need strong Democratic candidates to run for local office.  Here are some resources that can help you get started:
  1. Begin by exploring local interest groups and contact GCDP to let us know you are considering a run for office.
  2. Review the state election laws and guidelines for filing and for campaign financing.
  3. Let us know how we can help you get the word out to our base.  GCDP is happy to let candidates for local office speak to our members and share their vision for a stronger, healthy Gratiot County.
BECOME A PRECINCT DELEGATE
Precinct delegates serve as a bridge between their neighbors and the Democratic Party. They help educate people on our issues, get people interested in joining the Democratic Party, and help mobilize voters during elections.

You must be 18 years old to run, and must be registered and reside in the precinct you want to run in.  To register as a candidate:
  1. Download the Affidavit of Identity from the State of Michigan.
  2. Complete and submit to the Clerk's office in the County Courthouse (214 E Center, Ste 16, Ithaca 48847).

Become a poll worker
Election workers, precinct inspectors and election inspectors – are people who are paid to assist voters and count ballots on Election Day. To be an election worker, you must be a registered voter of the state.
